A film guide that looks at Chevalier (2022), a music biopic about the 18th century musician and composer Joseph Bologne, who was the son of an African slave and a white French slaveowner.
This guide is useful for exploring topics including Music and History, in addition to highlighting themes surrounding racism and prejudice, anti-bullying, historical periods, slavery, and campaigns and revolutions.
We have developed a large catalogue of educational resources since launching in 2013, and some references and terminology will inevitably have dated as society and language evolves. We are aware of this and will be updating resources when our production schedule allows.
