Brought up in middle-class Parisian sophistication, Thibaut is an internationally successful orchestra conductor. After collapsing during a rehearsal, he finds out that he has a brain tumour and needs a bone marrow transplant from a blood relative and further tests reveal that he was adopted. Along with this discovery comes that of a long-lost brother, Jimmy, who it turns out is a match for the transplant. While Jimmy grew up in very different circumstances to Thibaut, he too has an extraordinary talent for music and plays trombone in a local marching band supporting a factory workers union. After Jimmy's band loses its conductor, Thibaut steps in to help, but tension over the class divide between the two brothers threatens to sabotage their new relationship. This uplifting French-language comedy resonates with relatable scenarios and offers plenty of discussion points surrounding class, culture and music careers.
