Once seen as taboo, being open and discussing our mental health (and encouraging those around us to do the same) has finally been recognised as a crucial part of how we live our lives.

Many of us, including young people, still find this difficult, perhaps struggling to find the words for what they are trying to express. Film, as with all art forms, can help us with this; whether it is developing empathy through learning about the experiences of others, learning how to take care of oneself, or becoming more aware of the impact that behaviour such as bullying can have on others.

The films in this strand have been selected to encourage discussion with young people about all aspects of our wellbeing.
