Synopsis

One of the really memorable disaster movies from the 1970s, Ronald Neame's fantastically corny epic sees the ageing liner Poseidon turn turtle after it's hit by a freak wave during its final scheduled voyage. Can the small band of surviving passengers work their way up towards the hull? Will they be rescued? Five Oscar-winning actors - Gene Hackman, Shelley Winters, Ernest Borgnine, Red Buttons and Jack Albertson - are among the starry cast, but none of them can challenge Hackman for team-leading presence.
