Based on the Marvel comic book, this funny, visually spectacular superhero epic sees powerful warrior Thor - a figure from Norse myth - cast out of the fantastic realm of Asgard just before taking over from his wise, ageing father Odin. He’s sent to live on Earth among humans until he can overcome his arrogance and impetuosity - flaws which had led him to reignite an ancient war. In the dusty New Mexico town he's expelled to, Thor encounters romance with super-smart astrophysicist Jane Foster, and must learn what it really takes to be a hero when dark forces from Asgard invade Earth.
