Based on a successful parody novel in which 19th century England is plagued by zombies and young men and women of the upper classes are sent to Asia to learn martial arts, this is a gruesomely funny take on Jane Austen’s classic romance Pride and Prejudice. Turning the five unmarried Bennett sisters into skilled zombie killers they are faced with fighting off an apocalypse while upholding societal obligations of finding a husband. Lead by eldest Elizabeth, strong and protective of her sisters, and the brooding Mr Darcy of whom Elizabeth is very suspicious, the script wittily weaves the original novel’s language, manners and characters with the blood, guts and comedy of zombie action.
