Synopsis

George & A.J. are a pair of happy-go-lucky nurses sent to retrieve Carl Fredricksen, an old man, from his house, so he can move into a retirement community. When the house suddenly takes off into the sky, aided by thousands of balloons, George and A.J. go into a state of shock. As they set out to other elderly homeowners to take them to the retirement community, they find that Carl’s escape has inspired everyone to create similar inventions of their own, making George and A.J.’s job a lot more difficult. This short, featuring characters from 'Up', is animated in a storyboard style, making it perfect to teach students about the animation process.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
