In the fictional Middle Eastern nation of Kahndaq, 2600 BC, an enslaved boy is chosen as the protector of the kingdom and gifted with supernatural powers by the Egyptian gods to overthrow a tyrannical king. In the present day, Kahndaq is once again in a time of need, and an archaeologist discovers a way to reawaken the ancient god-like warrior to help fight against the criminal organisation that is oppressing the people. The warrior, called Teth-Adam, returns to a vastly changed world and faces moral challenges such as what it means to be a hero in the modern age. His methods are deemed brutal and uncompromising by the US government and the superhero Justice Society, who try and stop his destructive path. As tensions rise, buried truths resurface along with unresolved pain and the need for redemption. Touching on Egyptian mythology and geopolitical themes, this addition to the DC Universe offers a dynamic and fresh perspective on the superhero genre.
