He is invited to meet with the niece of the CEO of Kord Industries to discuss a job opportunity, but on the day, the frantic niece hands him a box and pleads with him to protect it. Curiosity getting the better of his close-knit family, Jaime opens the box to find an ancient alien artefact shaped like a beetle. The Scarab fuses with him, creating a powerful exosuit and transforming Jaime into the superhero Blue Beetle. As Jaime learns to control his new abilities, he becomes the target of the CEO of Kord Industries, Victoria, who plans to use the Scarab for her army of cyborg soldiers. Packed with thrilling action and humour, Blue Beetle is the first live-action superhero film with Latino lead characters by a Latino director, celebrating the importance of representation and heritage in the DC Universe.
