Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, is twenty-two years old and already world-weary. Her home planet Krypton was demolished, and she went through the trauma of watching her family die. Unlike her cousin Superman who grew up with loving adoptive parents on Earth, Kara only really has her dog Krypto, and wanders aimlessly from planet to planet trying to drown her sorrows. But when Krypto’s life is in danger, she teams up with a young alien girl, Ruthye, who wants revenge for her father's murder. The pair set out on an interstellar quest for justice and to find the antidote to save Krypto, encountering space pirates and a notorious bounty hunter along the way. With a fresh, edgy and rock-and-roll vibe, this superhero film nevertheless explores classic themes including responsibility, resilience and becoming your own hero.
