The main reason I was so drawn to watching this film was because of the casting; Tom Holland playing Nathan Drake, an orphaned boy who is recruited by treasure finder, Sully (Mark Wahlberg) to help find the hidden treasures of an explorer, from over 500 years ago. The boys are in competition to find the lost fortune before Santiago Moncada does and the film explores the hurdles they come into across their adventure. I love how the film mixes themes of comedy and adventure it made the film engaging and less ‘boring’ to watch. The action was ‘high-energy’ and the stunts made the film exciting- they were one of the main attractions to the film.
Although the film is a video game adaption, which I have next to no interest in (I hadn’t even heard of the game before seeing this film), I still enjoyed it just as much and the story was easy to follow along.
I think this film would be most suitable for ages 12+, this is mainly because, although the violence throughout isn’t necessarily ‘gory’ or too disturbing for children to watch, some of the language used in the dialogue might not be appropriate for those of younger ages.
