At the height of their powers, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy were the number one comedy duo in the world, and remain two of the most admired performers in screen history. This story, however, which takes place in 1953, finds them struggling to draw sizeable audiences as they tour across the UK in the hope of relaunching their career, post-World War Two, with a new feature film - their take on the legend of Robin Hood. But as they head towards their big London finale, Hardy's health takes a turn for the worse which threatens to jeopardise everything in poignant drama Stan & Ollie.

After a semi-autobiographical series of novels finds success and thrusts the pair into the limelight, Colette grows increasingly frustrated at her lack of recognition, and wages a fight for her freedom. Colette is a fresh take on the period-drama which defies gender roles and traditional notions of sexuality along the way.
