Film Language: Sound is the second in our series of film language sessions and is particularly suitable for GCSE and A Level students of WJEC and OCR Film and Media Studies and CCEA's Moving Image Arts.

In this theoretical and practical session, we will explore the production of different types of sound, from location to Foley, as well as analysing the impact of different types of sound on audiences, such as contrapuntal and non-diegetic. There will be an opportunity to participate in the creation of sound which will be used to enhance film content.

Participants will be able to take away a ring-bound set of Film Language Prompt Cards for use in class, as well as the session materials used.

A thoroughly interesting and informative session. I learnt a lot about the different aspects of teaching sound.
