Secretariat was a legendary American racehorse, loved by the public for the way he won - spending most of the race at the back, then surging to the front right at the end. This drama tells the story of how his owner risked her family's business on this one horse becoming a champion, and the colourful characters that helped her along the way.
Based on Sewell's novel following a horse's life from his beginnings in a 19th-century stable through a string of owners, some kind and some cruel.
