Synopsis

Out in the vastness of space, many planets, stars and other celestial bodies enjoy orbiting each other. But there is one newly-formed yellow star who is a long way from anyone else, and he starts to feel lonely. After he spots a new blue star in the distance, he figures that they can be friends. However, even if he can attract her attention, how is he going to be able to overcome the great distance which lies between them? ‘The Little Bang’ is a sweet and charming story told entirely without dialogue about the value of friendship, as well as providing discussion opportunities around space and planets for very young learners.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
