The 2025 Into Film Awards took place on Tuesday 24 June 2025, at London's iconic ODEON Luxe Leicester Square, celebrating the best and brightest young filmmaking talent from across the UK, as well as those who support and facilitate their endeavours.

Hosted by actor, presenter and author Rose Ayling-Ellis MBE, the ceremony saw 11 awards presented to some of the UK's most remarkable and creative young filmmakers and their champions. A whole host of screen industry stars joined us to hand out the awards, with big name presenters including actors Hugh Grant, Olivia Cooke, Lennie James, Elizabeth McGovern and James Norton.

For many of our young nominees, who travelled in from every corner of the UK, this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, with some getting to visit the capital city for the very first time, and all of them getting to follow in the footsteps of countless movie stars and walk the iconic red carpet in Leicester Square.

With nominated films exploring topics as diverse and potent as the mental health crisis, the risks of AI and phone addiction, the long-term after-effects of war and forced displacement, LGBT issues, and the need to preserve our country's rivers, the films at this year's Awards demonstrated the incredible passion and talent of young people in the UK. In an increasingly fast-moving and ever-changing world, it's more important than ever to support young people to use their voices and utilise film to tell not only their own stories, but to address the things matter to them.

Awards included Best Animation and Best Film across several age ranges, as well as Best Documentary and our special Time for Action award (sponsored by Swatch), which asked young people to create a film that raises awareness of issues important to them and explores the changes they would like to make in the world, leading to some of our most impactful submissions yet.

This year we also introduced the Best Story award, which sought to showcase the films with the most creative plots, engaging characters and innovative ways of telling a story. And as always, our Audience Choice Award saw a public vote take place across our social media channels, giving each of our nominated films another chance to take home a coveted Into Film Award.

Elsewhere, our Ones to Watch award recognised three inspirational young people who have already achieved remarkable things and whom we believe are destined to the future of the UK's screen industries, while our Filmmaking Champions award celebrated those people and groups that support and facilitate young people's filmmaking and make it possible for their creativity to shine.
